*OVERCOMING THE MIDIANITES*

SCRIPTURE: Nay, in all these things we are More Than Conquerors through Him that loved us -

*Romans 8:37*


When the oppression of the Midianites upon the children of Israel was unbearable, they cried unto God. And the Angel of the Lord appeared unto Gideon to Prepare him for the Deliverance of Israel. 


*The following are therefore essential towards Deliverance from the evil of the Midianites:*


*(1)* Turning away from evey wicked way.


It was the evil the children of Israel did in the sight of the Lord, that opened the door for the Midianites to come in - *Judges 6:1*


*(2)* Call upon the Lord. 


The Bible says call unto the Lord in the day of trouble - *Psalms 50:15*


*When we don't Call unto God in the day of trouble, we are Passing a vote of No Confidence in Him.*


*(3)* Come out of  hiding.


Gideon was hiding, but God told him to go and lead an Army against Israel.


*Enemies we don't confront, we cannot conquer.*


Moses was at the backside of the desert but God told him to show up at the Palace - *Exodus 3:1*


We are to show up to show forth for God -  *Matthew 5:14*

 

*(4)* Get over your Low Self Esteem.


*Self Esteem is the way you see yourself.* 


Gideon saw himself as not Good for anything - This is Low Self Esteem.


*We should see ourselves the way God sees us - We are the express image of God, Fearfully and Wonderfully made* - *Genesis 1:26, Psalms 139:14*


*(5)* Build up your Spiritual Muscles with the Word. 


You need the Strength to fight. 


The Word will build up your Spiritual Muscles - *Acts 20:32*


The Word is the Sword of the Spirit. You need it against the Midianites. 


Our Lord Jesus used the Sword and we must weild it also.


*(6)* Hunger and thirst after Revival. 


Gideon said, where are the Miracles that our fathers told us of. He was desperate to see the Wonders of God - *Matthew 5:7*


*(7)* Remain connected to the Source. 


Gideon said, the Miracles our fathers told us. 


"Father" means Source - He was still connected to the Source.


*Overcoming the Midianites is a task that must be done.* 


Our Anchor Text says: We are More Than Conquerors through Him that loved us.


*Prayer:*

Father, Please empower me to overcome the Spirit of the Midianites that want to reduce me to Nothing.
