*WALKING WITH GOD*

And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters - *Genesis 5:22*


The first time the word 'walk,' appears in the Scriptures, is when Adam and Eve heard the Voice of the Lord God in the Garden in the cool of the day - *Genesis 3:8*


God was looking for a "Walking Partner" - Adam and Eve, but they hid themselves from the Presence of the Lord.


The Second time the word appears is in our Anchor Text above. 


The Bible says Enoch walked with God.


Therefore, Enoch was the first man to walk with God.


*What does it mean to walk with God?*


*(1)* To be with God, to be in God's Presence, to keep the Company of God - *Genesis 3:8, 1 Kings 17:1, Mark. 3:13-14*


*(2)* Harmonise one's thoughts and ways with His - *Isaiah 55:8-9, Amos 3:3, Psalms 18:30, Malachi 3:6, Acts 3:19*


*(3)* To go in the same direction with God, to share the same Plan, Goal and Vision with God, and to flow in the Will of God - *Acts 13:22, John 4:34*

 

*(4)* Not being contrary towards God - *Leviticus 26:23-24*


*(5)* To be in talking Terms with God.

Ability to speak with and hear God regularly - *John 10:27*


*(6)* To be Intimate with God - *Genesis 18:17*


*(7)* Living to Please God - *Hebrews 11:5*


*The benefits of walking with God?*


The benefits are numerous such as:


*(1)* Protection from all evils and negative occurrences - *Psalms 91*


*(2)* Ability to access and download 6privileged Information from Heaven.


*(3)* Breaking away from Foundational Challenges - *Genesis 5:22*


*(4)* Breaking and setting record. 


Enoch was the first Man never to taste death - *Hebrews 11:5*


*(5)* Peaceful Ending - *Psalms 37:37*


*What to do to walk with God?*


*(1)* Spend quality time alone with God. 


Great Men of God, are Men of Mountains, Solitary Places and the wilderness etc -

*Exodus 34:1-3; 1 Kings 18:42; Mark. 1:35*


*(2)* Daily Quality Time with the Word - *John 1:1, 2 Timothy 2 :15*


*(3)* Living by Faith and not by Sight -  *Hebrews 11:5*


*(4)* After giving birth to Methuselah.


The name is Prophetic, meaning his death shall bring Judgement. It Prophetically spoke about the Judgement by flood and the Salvation by the Ark.


*(a)* Death to Self is key to walking with God.


*(b)* Salvation through Jesus is the way to walking with God.


*Prayer:*

Father, Please give me Grace to walk with you all the days of my life.
