*BUILDING UPON A ROCK*

SCRIPTURE: Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a Wise Man, which built his house upon a rock: - *Matthew 7:24*


As the New week begins, we must endeavour to build upon the Rock. 


Jesus told us that a Man can either build upon a Rock or on sand - *Matthew 7:24-27*


The Wise build upon a Rock while the foolish build on sand. 


The house upon a Rock will withstand the rain, the floods, and the winds. But, the house on the sand will not.


Rain is a Blessing from God. 


God said I will give you rain in due Season - *Leviticus 26 :4*


*Rain is considered to be an Indicator of Good Fortune. Rain connotes when the blessing of God is flowing.*


Only those who have made Christ their Foundation, will not be swept away by the Blessings they enjoy.


When David was running away from Saul who sought to kill him, he couldn't see a woman who was bathing, but when he became king, adultery was very attractive to him.


Unlike rain, flood is not a blessing. When God brought flood in the days of Noah, it was for destruction - *Genesis 6:17*


*Nothing destructive will bring down anyone who is firmly rooted in Christ.*


The winds can blow for or against a Man. 


The winds brought quails from the sea to the Camp of the children of Israel in the wilderness - *Numbers 11:31*


The winds also brought the Plague of the locusts upon the Egyptians - *Exodus 10:13*


*When a Man is in Christ, every wind that blows shall be a Blessing.*


*According to our Anchor Text, building upon the Rock is simply applying the Word in everything we do. It is doing nothing contrary to the Word.*


*Prayer:*

Father, Please this month empower me to do all things according to Your Word.

Jacob was enlarged, and the Bible says, the man (Jacob) increased Exceedingly - *Genesis 30:43* The Enlargement of Jacob was with a lot of Struggles.  He Struggled with Esau, his brother, in the womb - *Genesis 25:22* Even when he was born, he continued to Struggle with Esau, for his Birthright.  Jacob, in his quest for Enlargement, deceived his father. Jacob also Struggled with Laban, his Uncle.
