*SOUND OF ABUNDANCE OF RAIN*

SCRIPTURE: And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a Sound of Abundance of Rain - *1 Kings 18:41*


Israel had gone into Idolatry, forsaken the Living God and gone after Baal. Elijah declared there shall be no Rain nor Dew according to His Word - *1 King 17:1*


There was drought in Israel for three Years and six Months. 


During this Period, there was famine and brooks dried up.


At the end of three Years and six Months, God asked Elijah to show himself up to Ahab, the king of Israel. He did and challenged the Prophets of Baal to a contest. The contest was for the Prophets of Baal to Prepare an Altar and call on their God. He also will Prepare an Altar and call on his God. The One that answered by Fire is the "True God".


The Prophets of Baal Set Up an Altar and called on their god but there was no answer. Elijah set up an Altar and called on his God and He answered by Fire.


The People in one accord declared that Yahweh Is God. This birthed a National Repentance. 


Elijah slew the four hundred and fifty Prophets of Baal since their followers had repented.


*Thereafter, Elijah heard the Sound of Abundance of Rain according to our Anchor Text.*


*The following can be learnt:*


*(1)* The drought was allowed by God, not to wipe off the People, but to bring them into Repentance.


The Psalmist said, it is Good for me that I am afflicted that I might learn thy Statutes - *Psalms 119:71*


*(2)* The farther a Man is from God, the worse his situation will be.


The Story of the Prodigal son is a Good example.


*(3)* True Repentance opens the door of Total Restoration - *2 Chronicles 7 :14*


*(4)* There cannot be True Repentance when idols are not gotten rid off.


The Bible says, many of them who used curious arts brought their books and burned them before all Men - *Acts 19:19*


*(5)* The nearer we draw to God, the sweeter Life becomes.


The Bible says, as long as he 

sought the Lord, God made him to Prosper - *2 Chronicles 26:5*


*Consequently, every Child of God is Positioned for Abundance of Rain.*


*Prayer:*

Father, Please let today see an Outpouring of Abundant Rain in every areas of my family.
