     TAKE A STAND.

                                   

 
I recently met a boy. After exchanging pleasantries and becoming acquainted with him, I began inquiring about his academic plans, as he is in high school and will be finished soon.
 
His response startled me; he wouldn't be attending university. Why? I inquired. Those who have gone to school, he claims, have no jobs, so what is the point of his going to school?
 
As if that wasn't enough, I overheard a neighbor's daughter, who is preparing for the Jamb exam, saying to another who asked her why she chose this university over another because it's the one they wanted her to attend.
 
Which of the schools do you prefer?
 
None! Why?
 
School na scam. Who school helps?
 
It is now clear why our youth are no longer concerned about academic excellence. Why  there is so much crime among young people? The story offered to them is "school na scam."
 
During Bible club, a guy in junior high school once inquired why people who are industrious aren't as wealthy as the Yahoo boys.
 
Can you see the impact of the narrative now? Someone needs to tweak the narrative and rewrite this story for today's children. Who better to accomplish the job than parents?
 
You might not be able to save all of the other children, but you can save your own.
 
Parents please don't n't be silent.

Everyone complains about this generation's moral decay, but no one takes responsibility for it. Everyone thinks they're a saint.
 
The same parents will moan about our youth's idleness but will not accept responsibility for their role in creating a lazy generation.
 
We frequently forget that children do exactly what we do, not what we say. We say one thing while modeling another. Children observe how we treat our spouse, siblings, friends, and even neighbors.
 
In an unfamiliar land, Daniel and his pals mirror who their parents were. They understand their parents' stance on idolatry and why they took it. Their parents will never compromise their position, and neither will the children.
 
What about the Rechabites, who clung tenaciously to their father's doctrine long after his death?
 
What is your stance as a parent on internet fraud, malpractices, fashion and trends, music, entertainment, drugs, alcohol, and events? You may not be doing it, but do your words, body language, and actions suggest that it's not actually that bad? Just that...........
If you don't stand for anything, you'll fall for everything.
 
We provide our children with a template to run their lives by, even the one that they are currently using. Our way of life is the default setting for our children.
