I had a lot of responses to yesterday's post, with many people sharing other amusing lines of thought with me about why young people do different things.
A couple of people inquired about the next steps after repeatedly discussing the issue with their children, who don't seem to know whether or not they are obeying.
 
They believe the rate at which young people are exposed to these societal evils is overwhelming since you learn something new virtually every day.
I noticed a principle in the Old Testament where God tells parents to constantly tell their children about his word, whether at home, on the road, or when eating or sleeping. He even asked that it be written on their doorpost.
 
Do you understand why? What you see and hear repeatedly enters your mind until it becomes your default setting.
 
Paul also advised the Galatians church not to grow tired of doing good because they would enjoy the benefits if they did not give up. That is, if you cease sowing, there will be nothing to harvest during the harvest season.
 
Don't let what's going on around you drown out your voice; keep telling your children the truth. You don't have to be afraid once it gets into them and takes root.
They will follow suit.
 
It can be daunting at times, I must admit, but if we allow what is happening to silence us, evil will have a field day in the hearts of our children. As a result, we cannot remain silent.
 
We must assume the role of chief reminding officer.
