JOURNEY OF RELATIONSHIPS.

 *JOURNEY OF RELATIONSHIPS.*

I've had to answer a lot of questions from parents in the last few days and I can honestly say that I can relate to and empathize with a lot of parents and that a lot of parents want to get it right.

Parenting is a relationship journey. It's not about following rules and regulations. It's not about you coming to tell your children what to do or not do. No, it's a life-long journey. A journey through relationships

A stolid parent-child relationship serves as the cornerstone for all other parenting approaches, including discipline. You must first connect before you can correct.

A lot of emotions are running hot right now, thanks to the release of some parenting scorecards into the public domain recently, and it's not amusing. Everyone seems to have suddenly recognized that something needs to be done to improve their parenting skills.

To get the intended results, we must first establish a strong and powerful relationship with our children. Were we the first to connect with them? If not, rules and regulations will only enhance their outer looks, while their lives will be the polar opposite of their public appearance.

The purpose of parenting should be to assist children to self-regulate even when you are not present, not to keep one's appearance. This is only possible if you have a solid relationship with them.

As we all work hard to raise our children, let us strive to be their friends and guardians rather than just instructors or hirlings.

So, tell me how healthy your connection with your children is.
