*WHEN MONEY IS OVER VALUED*

SCRIPTURE: No man can serve two Masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon - *Matthew 6:24*


The Bible says money answereth all things - *Ecclesiastes 10:19*


*Money which is a Medium of Exchange is very Valuable to man. It meets the three basic Needs of man which are food, shelter and clothing.* 


Money is also a defence - *Ecclesiastes 7:12*


Money is so important that it facilitates the spread of the Gospel abroad - *Zechariah 1:17*


But often times, money is over valued. 


*There are a number of occasions in the Bible, and in Contemporary Living, where money is over valued such as:*


*(1)* Whenever we betray anyone for the sake of money. 


Judas Iscariot over valued money when he betrayed his Master for thirty Pieces of Silver - *Matthew 26:15-16*


*No amount in the world is worth the Value of a Soul.*


*(2)* Whenever a Good name is compromised for money.


The Bible says a Good name is rather to be chosen than great riches - *Proverbs 22:1*


*(3)* Whenever we Prefer accumulating money to laying up knowledge.


The Bible says, Wise men lay up Knowledge - *Proverbs 10:14*


And wisdom is better than rubies - *Proverbs 8:11*


Solomon Preferred Wisdom to riches - *1 Kings 3:9-11*


*(4)* Whenever our love is shifted from God to money - *1 Timothy 6:10*


*(5)* Whenever we break our Covenant with God because of what to eat.


*(6)* Whenever we become Unrighteous for the sake of money, as in the case of Ananias and Sapphira - *Acts 5:1-11*


*(7)* When we begin to serve mammon.


*In our Anchor Bible Text, mammon is the god of riches and it can stand between us and the "True God".*


*Prayer:* 

Father, Please help me never to over Value money that my love will not be shifted from you.

Jacob was enlarged, and the Bible says, the man (Jacob) increased Exceedingly - *Genesis 30:43* The Enlargement of Jacob was with a lot of Struggles.  He Struggled with Esau, his brother, in the womb - *Genesis 25:22* Even when he was born, he continued to Struggle with Esau, for his Birthright.  Jacob, in his quest for Enlargement, deceived his father. Jacob also Struggled with Laban, his Uncle.
