*ABRAHAM'S LIFESTYLE*

SCRIPTURE: And he removed from thence unto a Mountain on the East of Beth-el, and Pitched his tent, having Beth-el on the West, and Hai on the East: and there he builded an Altar unto the LORD, and called upon the Name of the LORD - *Genesis 12:8*


Abraham was a Great Man blessed with flocks, Herds, Silver, Gold, Menservants,  Maidservants, Camels and Asses - *Genesis 24:35*


*Notwithstanding, there was a Lifestyle Peculiar to Abraham, which he Passed on to Isaac his son; the Lifestyle of dwelling in Tents and building an Altar.*


Abraham dwelt in Tents and built Altars. 


*Tents speak of Temporal Structures, while buildings are Permanent.*


*An Altar is the Meeting Point between God and Man.* 


*Altars connote a Relationship with God, which speaks of Spiritual Things.*


*Tents are a Place of abode and a Place of abode speaks of Earthly things.*


*In summary, it was Abraham's Lifestyle to make Spiritual Things Permanent, while making Earthly Things Temporal.*


As earlier mentioned, this Lifestyle was Passed onto Isaac his son - *Genesis 26: 25*


Abraham's Godly Lifestyle made him the friend of God - *James 2:23*


*The Lesson in this Lifestyle is that whoever wants to be a friend of God must learn to hold Spiritual Things tightly while holding Earthly Things loosely.*


Let us remind ourselves of what Paul the Apostle said,  'but what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ" - *Philippians 3:7*


*Prayer:*

Father, Please help me to hold Earthly Things loosely while holding Spiritual Things tightly.

Jacob was enlarged, and the Bible says, the man (Jacob) increased Exceedingly - *Genesis 30:43* The Enlargement of Jacob was with a lot of Struggles.  He Struggled with Esau, his brother, in the womb - *Genesis 25:22* Even when he was born, he continued to Struggle with Esau, for his Birthright.  Jacob, in his quest for Enlargement, deceived his father. Jacob also Struggled with Laban, his Uncle.
