*ALWAYS SHOWING KINDNESS: DAVID*

SCRIPTURE: Now David said, “Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” -

*2 Samuel 9:1*


God said I have found  David, the son of Jesse  a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my Will - *Acts 13:22*


*One of the attributes which characterised David's life, is that he walked in agreement with God and he was a kind hearted man.* 


Hanun took over from his late father, Nahash, as king of Ammon, and David chose to show kindness to Hanun, because his father showed kindness to him - *1 Chronicles 19:2*


*This is a clear case of rewarding kindness with kindness, even though Hanun did not request for David's kindness.*


At another time, as seen in our text, David sought after anyone in the house of Saul, to show kindness unto him, because of Jonathan.


David chose to do this, in spite of Saul seeking after David's life. Twice, Saul threw a Javelin at David but God showed him Mercy and delivered him, both times.


Saul used his Position as King to make life bitter for David. David lived as a fugitive, running from one cave to another for Protection. 


*Therefore, for David to mention kindness to anyone in Saul's house, showed that he was a man after God's Own heart.*


*One would have thought he would have avoided the name of Saul and just mentioned the name of Jonathan only but, he was a man who sowed kindness, both to those who deserved it and those who did not deserve it.*


*This is the only way to avoid sowing wickedness.*


*David teaches us to always look for every reason to show kindness.*


In case we cannot find any reason to show kindness, let us remember that for God so loved the world that he gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not Perish, but have everlasting life - *John 3:16*


*We all have a reason(s) to show kindness to all because of Jesus Christ, He came for all.*


*Prayer:* 

Father, Please always help me to see reasons to show kindness all the days of my life in Jesus Christ Name.

Jacob was enlarged, and the Bible says, the man (Jacob) increased Exceedingly - *Genesis 30:43* The Enlargement of Jacob was with a lot of Struggles.  He Struggled with Esau, his brother, in the womb - *Genesis 25:22* Even when he was born, he continued to Struggle with Esau, for his Birthright.  Jacob, in his quest for Enlargement, deceived his father.
