*PRESERVING YOUR INHERITANCE*

One of the teachings captured in the story of the two harlots who came before king Solomon, is the secret of Preserving our Inheritance - *1 Kings 3:16-28*

King Solomon through the Wisdom of God was able to restore the living child to the rightful mother.

Similarly, through our Lord Jesus Christ, our Inheritance taken from us when Adam fell, has been restored.

What the harlot needs to do, to Preserve her living child is what we need to do to Preserve our Inheritance.

*Let us take a look at what she needs to do:*

*(1)* Abide with the king.

The king had helped her before and if she abides with the King, when a need arises again, the King will help.

Jesus said I am the Vine and ye are the branches: He that abides in me and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit, for without me ye can do Nothing - *John 15:5*

*We need Christ to Preserve what He has gotten for us.*

*(2)* Severe relationship with the harlot.

*Friendship is by choice, not by force.* 

*Friendship is meant to challenge and inspire us.*

I. But, friendship with harlots will cause an exchange of the living child, with the dead.

II. Friendship with harlots will set us backward rather than move us forward. 

*The Bible says he that keeps company with harlots, spends his substance* - *Proverbs 29:3*

*(3)* Stay awake.

The woman lost her living child to the other harlot while she slept.

*We need to stay Spiritually awake to Prevent the enemy who walks about as a roaring lion, from stealing our inheritance.*

The Bible says be awake to righteousness and sin not - *1 Corinthians 15:34*

*(4)* Give Liberally.

The Rightful mother of the living child told the king to give the other harlot the living child and when the child is old, he will return to his mother.

*Whatever we give is not lost but will return much later* - *Ecclesiates 11:1*

*(5)* Keep the sword.

It was the sword that the King used to settle the crisis. It must therefore be used for Preservation. 

*The sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, is important to Preserve our Inheritance - *Acts 20:32, Acts 6:4*

*Preserving our Inheritance is important in reaching our full Potentials in Christ Jesus.*

*Prayer:* Father, Please give me Grace to Preserve my Inheritance delivered to me, through the Sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.
