*WARNING PROCEEDS HIS CHASTISEMENT*

SCRIPTURE: Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded, Because you disdained all my Counsel, And would have none of my rebuke, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes - *Proverbs 1:24‭-‬26* 

God is Merciful and Gracious, slow to anger, not willing that any should Perish but that all should come to repentance.

*Consequently, before His door of Mercy closes, He will warn severally.*

Samson was warned severally against his immorality but despised all warnings. 

Delilah asked him in Plain terms the source of his Strength, and what could be done to bind and afflict him - *Judges 16:6*

He did not need a teacher to tell him that immorality can bind and afflict a man still, he despised the warning and his calamity came as a whirlwind.

King Nebuchadnezar was warned by God in a dream before his tragic experience. He did not understand the dream but Daniel gave him the interpretation and told him what to do, to avert the impending calamity.

Unfortunately, he despised the warnings and had seven years of great disaster - *Daniel 4 :1-34*

*It is clear from our text that by God's Mercy, when we are treading a dangerous Path, He will call, He will Stretch out His Hands, He will Counsel and reprove. But, if anyone despises all these warnings, God will laugh and mock him when his calamity comes.*

*Therefore, when He warns, we should be like the People of Nineveh and turn away from our wicked ways, so that His door of Mercy is not shut against us.*

*Prayer:* 

Father, Please help me to heed Your warnings so that my life and destiny is not wasted.
