*THE GREAT EXPECTATION*

SCRIPTURE: And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them - *Acts 3:5*

Men don't do what you expect but what you inspect. 

But, our God will not only do what we expect, He will do beyond our Expectations. 

The Bible says, the Expectation of the Righteous shall not be cut off - *Proverbs 23:18*

The man at the gate of the Temple called Beautiful, saw Peter and John going up to the Temple at the hour of Prayer and asked for alms. Peter and John fastening their eyes on him said look on us. The Lame man gave heed expecting to receive something.

He was Expectant and his Expectation was not cut off.

His Expectation was great because it was rooted in Righteousness. 

He sat at the gate of the Temple called Beautiful. 

David said I will rather be a door keeper in the Temple of the Lord than dwell in the tent of the wicked - *Psalms 84:10*

The Bible says, God is Beautiful for all situation - *Psalms 48:2*

God dwells in the Temple including the gate giving beauty for ashes - *Isaiah 61:3*

*Let us take a look at the Blessing of the Expectation:*

*(1)* It made Fruitful Divine Visitation.

• The Visitation of the Anointed men was not wasted in his Life - *Mark 14:3; Matthew 13:53-58*

*(2)* Inherited Challenges were addressed.

*(3)* His waiting on God was not wasted because it was accompanied with Great Expectation - *Job 14:14*

*(4)* He rose up and walked.

The Great Expectation will trigger a man's rising in Life.

*(5)* Emergence of a New Dawn. 

A New Dawn broke out - *Isaiah 43:19*

*Great expectation has Great Rewards.*

*Prayer:*

Father, Please empower me to have a Great Expectation that is rooted in Righteousness in Jesus Christ mighty name.
