      *LIMITING REQUEST*

SCRIPTURE: So Gehazi followed after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after him, he lighted down from the Chariot to meet him, and said, Is all well? - *2 Kings 5:21*


*A man can be limited by what he or she is requesting or seeking after.*


*Whenever a man is requesting or seeking after what a man can give, he or she is set to limit himself or herself in Life.*


Gehazi, the Servant of Elisha coveted the Gifts Naaman brought to his Master, which his Master rejected. He limited himself, and his journey of Greatness ended abruptly. He could not fulfil his Destiny - *2 King 5: 21-27*


*Getting to the Zenith of our Destinies requires that we do not request for, or seek after what any man can give.*


When Elijah was to be taken up by a Whirldwind, he asked Elisha his Servant, what he could do for him, before he is taken away. Elisha asked for Double Portion of the Spirit on Elijah. 


The beauty of this Request is that it is beyond what Elijah could give.


No man can give what he does not have, only God could grant Elisha's Request.


When God granted his Requests, he handled cases his Master could not handle and Kings called him father - *2 Kings 2:9; 2 Kings 2:19-21, 2 Kings 13:14*


When Solomon made a Request to God, it was what no man could give. 


He requested for an Understanding Heart, which only God can give. 


When the Lord answered him, no Earthly King before or after him was as Great as he was - *1 Kings 3:9-12; Ecclesiastes 2:9*


*Therefore, for us to become who God Ordained us to be, we must set our affection on things above, not on things on Earth* - *Colossians 3:1*


*Prayer:*

Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ, grant me an Understanding Heart, to seek after what only You can give.

Jacob was enlarged, and the Bible says, the man (Jacob) increased Exceedingly - *Genesis 30:43* The Enlargement of Jacob was with a lot of Struggles.  He Struggled with Esau, his brother, in the womb - *Genesis 25:22* Even when he was born, he continued to Struggle with Esau, for his Birthright.  Jacob, in his quest for Enlargement, deceived his father. Jacob also Struggled with Laban, his Uncle.
