*EAT BREAD CONTINUALLY*

SCRIPTURE: And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the Land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually - *2 Samuel 9:7*


*Mephibosheth was the surviving relative of the house of Saul, and David extended kindness to him for the sake of his friendship and Covenant with Jonathan, Saul's son.*


*There are a number of Profound Lessons from the above Statement of David to Mephibosheth:*


*1)*  Restoration comes not by works but the Favour of God through Jesus Christ.


All of Saul's Lands was restored to Mephibosheth  through the kindness of David, for Jonathan's sake.


*2)* Whatever is restored to us will be maintained and sustained through the continual consumption of His Word - *Jeremiah 15:16; Joshua 1:8; Acts 6:4*


*3)* David said to Mephibosheth, and thou shall eat bread at my table continually. 


• The bread at His table stands for the Word of God - *John 6:35; John 6:49-50; Luke 4:4*


*3)* Whenever God blesses, the responsibility is ours to maintain and sustain it.


*4)* Generational Blessings are available in God - *Genesis 22:17; Psalms 112:1-2*


• Mephibosheth was blessed through the Sacrifices of Jonathan, his father.


• When the Lord was angry with King Solomon because his heart was turned from the Lord God of Israel, God decided to rend his kingdom and give it to his servant. But God withheld the Punishment for the sake of David, his father - *1 Kings 11:10-12*

 

*(5)* Generational curses are also consequences of disobeying God. 


• A child can be cursed for the offence of his father.


The unborn children of Gehazi were cursed for the offence of Gehazi - *2 Kings 5:27*


*Prayer:* 

Father, Please help me to be a Blessing to my children now and forever in Jesus Christ mighty Name.

Jacob was enlarged, and the Bible says, the man (Jacob) increased Exceedingly - *Genesis 30:43* The Enlargement of Jacob was with a lot of Struggles.  He Struggled with Esau, his brother, in the womb - *Genesis 25:22* Even when he was born, he continued to Struggle with Esau, for his Birthright.  Jacob, in his quest for Enlargement, deceived his father.
