SAMUEL DID NOT YET KNOW THE LORD

*SAMUEL DID NOT YET KNOW THE LORD*

SCRIPTURE: Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the Word of the LORD yet revealed unto him -

*1 Samuel 3:7*


This Chapter of the Scripture opened with the Good News that the child, Samuel, Ministered unto the Lord. But in our Anchor Bible Text above, we hear that Samuel did not yet know the Lord , nor was the Word revealed unto him. 


This was Bad News because it was against Divine Order. 


The Divine Order is that the Called will be with the Lord, and He will send them out - *Mark 3:13-14*


There are inherent Dangers in this  disorder .


*What are the dangers?*


*(1)* Service will be to an Unknown God - *Acts 17:23*


*(2)* Man or an object will be the Central focus - Samuel ran to Eli.


Before Isaiah saw the Lord,  Uzzaiah was his Central focus - *Isaiah 6:1*


*(3)* Running without a Message - *2 Samuel 18:20-31*


*(4)* Making impressions without impact.


*(5)* Iniquity will abound - *Psalms 119:11*


*(6)* Self-Centredness will be rife.


*(7)* The Fruit of the Holy Ghost will be Sacrificed for the Gifts - *1 Corinthians 13:1*


*(8)* Strange Fire will be on the Altar.


*(9)* Challenges and afflictions will be on the increase.


*(10)* Weakness and inability to do Exploits will set in - *Daniel 11:32*


*How did Samuel get here?*


The Bible says the child Samuel Ministered unto the Lord before Eli - *1 Samuel 3:1*


Eli was his Spiritual father, his Pastor, and at this time, Eli was experiencing Spiritual blackout. God had separated Himself from Eli. Therefore, Samuel was under Blind Leadership - *Matthew 15:14*

 

*How did Samuel overcome?*


He knew the Lord; God revealed Himself to him - *1 Samuel 3:10*


*Prayer:*

Father, Please let me know You, reveal Yourself unto me in Jesus Christ Name.

Jacob was enlarged, and the Bible says, the man (Jacob) increased Exceedingly - *Genesis 30:43* The Enlargement of Jacob was with a lot of Struggles.  He Struggled with Esau, his brother, in the womb - *Genesis 25:22* Even when he was born, he continued to Struggle with Esau, for his Birthright.  Jacob, in his quest for Enlargement, deceived his father. Jacob also Struggled with Laban, his Uncle.
