*THE BOAT WAS EMPTY*

SCRIPTURE: And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the Night, and have taken Nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net - *Luke 5:5*


Peter was into a fishing business, and he went out to fish, expecting that his boat would be filled with fish, but despite his hardwork, his boat was empty. 


The Bible says, "He toiled all the night and caught Nothing."


*Why was the boat empty despite his hardwork?*


*(1)* He was living in sin.


He said to Jesus, depart from me, for I am a sinful man.


• Sin opens the door to travail - *Ecclesiastes 2:26*


• Sin cuts the help of God away from a Man - *Job 8:20*


• Sin makes God stay away from a man.


*(2)* He lacked knowledge. 


• The difference between Success and Failure, between Emptiness and Fullness is Knowledge - *Hosea 4:6*


• Peter knew not what to do to end his Emptiness.


*(3)* He was in the wrong Company.


• He said to Jesus, we have toiled all the night and have taken Nothing - *Luke 5:5*


• He was in the Company of Failures - *Proverbs 13:20; Psalms 1:1-3*


*(4)* He was doing the right thing at the wrong time.


• At the time People Pressed upon Jesus to hear the Word of God, was the time Peter was washing his Nets - *Luke 5:1-2*


• The Bible says, there is a time for every Purpose under the Heaven - *Ecclesiastes 3:1*


• Everything is made beautiful at his Time - *Ecclesiastes 3:11*


• A man without the Understanding of the Times will always experience Emptiness - *1 Chronicles 12:32*


*(5)* He had no Passion for the things of God. 


People Pressed to hear the Word of God, but Peter was busy washing his Nets.


• Emptiness comes when we have no Passion for the things of God - *Matthew 6:33; Psslms 37:25*


• The Good News is that like Peter, we can move from emptiness to Fullness - *Luke 5:6*


*Prayer:*

Father, Please reveal to me the Secret of my Emptiness and move me to Fullness in Jesus Christ Name.
