*WHAT HAVE YOU TAUGHT THEM?/ HAVING FORM OF GODLINESS / STOP BEING ALL RELIGIOUS ABOUT IT*.

                                        

It's amazing how parents want to raise children based on assumptions. They believe they should know without any input from their end.
 
Parenting thrives on instructions and training. It's impossible for you to raise a proper child without instructions. Not just instructions, but teaching. Taking time to let them know what is obtainable in an area of life.
 
It is not a one-time thing. It's a continuous conversation that yields over time.
 
Children, just like plants, will grow whether you tend them or not. The challenge is that the plant will grow wild with weeds and all sorts, which will not allow the farmer to enjoy his harvest. Why? You asked. The plant was not nurtured.
It is amazing how we are quick to punish perceived wrongs without any form of previous instructions on a matter.
 
The first point of contact when a child errs is to check if there have been instructions regarding that, and do they really understand the concept?
Don't assume your children should know; teach them!
 
     
*HAVING FORM OF GODLINESS.*
 
The Bible says in the book of Timothy that some people have a form of godliness, but their lifestyle denies its power.
In simple terms, their lives don't align with the message they proclaim. In one word, they are *hypocrites*.
 
A lot of the time, we have children from Christian homes behave in this manner. You know why?
We have indirectly chosen to religionize them. We indoctrinate them rather than lead them to Christ.
 
We make them behave instead of becoming. We make them suspense their brains, like serving God takes away the functionality of our brains. 
 
Once they express an opinion that's not in alignment with our supposed religious thinking or rituals, we come down on them like we were born saints. So they end up doing instead of being.
 
It is if any man *be in Christ* and not if any man *does in Christ*. *God is the God of being and not the God of doing*.

Your doing is a reflection of your being.
If you want them to be real and not just have a form, *then allow them to be and not just do*
 
: *STOP BEING ALL RELIGIOUS ABOUT IT*.
 
One of my teachers in secondary school told us a story during a meeting one day. According to him, a dear brother was said to have cut his penis because he couldn't imagine himself still having feelings for a sister even after much prayer and fasting. So, the best way to deal with his humanity is to cut off his penis.
 
Thank God for the brethren who took him to the hospital for prompt medical attention.

*Being religious doesn't take away our humanity. The earlier we tell ourselves this truth, the better for all.*

I find it funny when I hear parents quieten their children for talking about their bodies, all because it relates to sex organs. 
 
We have a very funny society that hides under the cloak of religion and shies away from calling a spade a spade. We guilt-trip young people for legitimate feelings and expression, yet we wonder why they are not emotionally accountable to us.
 
Maybe I should remind you that the virgina, breast, penis, and testicles were created by God and are not for decoration. They have their function and place of use within the confines of marriage.

Talking about these things gives you the opportunity to drive home your beliefs and godly principles.
 
You might also need to know that if your child isn't having those emotions at a certain age, we would need to take him or her to the hospital for a thorough check after laying hands. Obviously, something is wrong with that child.
 
*So stop acting all religious, sir; ma, religion doesn't take away our humanity.* Even Jesus wept and was hungry.
