*WHAT IS YOUR NAME?*

SCRIPTURE: And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob - *‭‭Genesis 32:27 KJV‬‬*


•The first time Jacob was asked a similar Question was when he brought a meal to his father Isaac, and because he couldn't see, he asked Jacob, 'who art thou, my son?' Jacob answered, "I am Esau  thy firstborn " - *Genesis 27:18-19*


•Thereafter, he received his father's Blessing meant for Esau, his older brother. The Blessing Provoked Great Blessings in his Life. He had wives, children, much cattle, maidservants, menservants, camels, and asses. He increased exceedingly - *Genesis 30:43*


•Jacob increased exceedingly, but Great danger laid ahead of him. Esau, his brother, had engaged four hundred armed men to  kill him, his wives, and his children in order to wipe out his Lineage to recover his birthright. Therefore, Jacob lived in fear of Great evil ahead - *Genesis 32:7*


•Therefore, when Jacob was left alone, he wrestled with an Angel of the Lord. As a result, the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint.


•The Angel asked Jacob his name? 


•Unlike the first time with his father, he was Truthful. He answered and said his name is Jacob.


•The Angel said to him, "you shall no more be called Jacob but Israel" - *Genesis 32:24-28*


*Great Lessons:*


*1)* Though Esau was after the Life of Jacob, it was not the real Problem of Jacob. 


Jacob's real Problem was his Untruthfulness in answering the Question, 'What is your name?' 


•Because until he confronted the issue of his Identity, his name could not be Changed.


*2)* Riches gotten not by right means shall become a snare - *Jeremiah 17:11*


*3)*  Embedded in Jacob was Israel, the one who has Power with God and favour with men.


(4) There was an Expression of Jacob's Potential when he answered his real name .


*5)* The hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of Joint. Israel will not be birthed in a Place of comfort.


*6)* When we have Power with God and men, we will experience Sunrise - *Genesis 32:31*


*7)* Power with God will take of danger ahead. 


•The armed men formed a wall of defence for Jacob - *Genesis 37*


*Prayer:*

Father, in the Name of Jesus, Please let me have Power with You and men in the name of Jesus Christ.

Jacob was enlarged, and the Bible says, the man (Jacob) increased Exceedingly - *Genesis 30:43* The Enlargement of Jacob was with a lot of Struggles.  He Struggled with Esau, his brother, in the womb - *Genesis 25:22* Even when he was born, he continued to Struggle with Esau, for his Birthright.  Jacob, in his quest for Enlargement, deceived his father. Jacob also Struggled with Laban, his Uncle.
