*DEPART NOT FROM JERUSALEM*

*By Pastor E O Gabriel  18 July 2024:Share*

SCRIPTURE: And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the Promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me - *Acts 1:4 KJV‬*

When our Lord Jesus resurrected after the third day, He gave His Last Command, "Go ye into all the world and Preach the Gospel - *Matthew 28:19*

But shortly after the Last Command, He instructed the Disciples not to depart from Jerusaleum but to wait for the Promise of the Father. He told them where to wait and what to wait for.

They were to wait at Jerusaleum, which is the City of God, the dwelling Place of God.

*This means that before we undertake the Last Command, we must wait in the Presence of God.*

*What are we to wait for?*

We are to wait for the Promise of the Father.

The Holy Ghost is the Promise of the Father - *Acts 2:33*

Jesus said the Holy Ghost is another Comforter that the Father will send to abide with us forever - *John 14:16*

Therefore, we are to wait in the Presence of God, to enjoy the Abiding Presence of God, and to be Witnesses unto Jesus both in Jerusaleum, and in all Judea, and in Samaria and unto the Uttermost Part of the Earth - *Acts 1:8*

*The effectiveness of the Last Command is anchored on the readiness not to depart from Jerusaleum but to wait for the Promise of the Father.*

*Prayer:*

Father, in Jesus' Name, Please give me the Grace to carry your Abiding Presence all the days of my Life in Jesus Christ Name.
