*RE-FOCUS IN CHALLENGING TIMES*

SCRIPTURE: And David said to Abiathar the Priest, Ahimelech's son, I Pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. [8] And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I Pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all - *1 Samuel 30:7-8 KJV*


Life is full of Challenges - *Job 14:1*


*One surest way of rising above the Challenges of Life is to re-focus our Vision.*


David did this to overcome the Challenges of his time.


David was running away from King Saul when he found a Shelter in the Land of the Philistines and found a good friend in Achish, the king of the Philistines. 


While David was in the Land of the Philistines, they were to war against Israel, and David and his Men offered to join the Philistines to war against Israel. Achish, the king approved that David and his Men should be in the battle. 


They left for battle, and the Amalekites invaded the City, took all the Women and Children Captive, and set the City on fire.


The Princes of the Philistines when they saw David and his Men join them to war against Israel resisted saying David and his Men could be Adversaries rather than friends in war.


So Achish told David and his Men to return to their Place. David felt disappointed and betrayed by his friend.


David and his men returned to Ziklag, their City, and they discovered that the Amalekites had invaded the City. 


They saw the extent of devastation, and they wept until they had no Power to weep.


The men of David thought of stoning David.


This was a Challenging and Distressing Time for David.


Achish, a good friend, disappointed him. 


The Amalekites, his enemy, hit him so hard. 


His own Men of war turned against him.


*When all roads around you are blocked and you are Stranded, if you see well, one road will remain wide open that is the "Upwardd Road".*


*In the Anchor Bible Text, David came to this realisation and decided to re-focus his vision.*


*This was how he came out of his challenges, and he recovered all.*


*Are you faced with Challenging situations that have defied Solutions, re-focus your Vision, and the Victory Songs await you.*


*Prayer:*

Father, Please help me to re-focus my Vision for me to sing Victory Songs in Jesus Christ Name.

Jacob was enlarged, and the Bible says, the man (Jacob) increased Exceedingly - *Genesis 30:43* The Enlargement of Jacob was with a lot of Struggles.  He Struggled with Esau, his brother, in the womb - *Genesis 25:22* Even when he was born, he continued to Struggle with Esau, for his Birthright.  Jacob, in his quest for Enlargement, deceived his father.
