     *THEME: THE ARK*

Session 1: Hearing God's Voice in Troubling Times

Anchor Scripture:

Genesis 6:13-14

And God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make yourself an ark of gopher wood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch."

Introduction:

In a time when corruption and violence filled the earth, Noah heard the voice of God calling him to build the ark. Despite the chaos around him, Noah was able to hear God's voice clearly and obey His instructions, setting him apart as a man of faith. In today’s world, just as Noah faced troubling times, we too are in a season where the world is filled with uncertainty. However, the voice of God is still speaking, guiding, and directing His children. In this session, we will pray for the ability to hear God's voice clearly and follow His directions, even in the midst of trouble. We will pray for grace to discern His voice from the noise of the world, trusting that He is always speaking and leading us.

Prayer Points:

(John 10:27, Isaiah 55:3)

Lord, we thank You for Your protection over our lives, even in the midst of the chaos around us.

(Psalm 91:1-2, Isaiah 43:2)

Father, we ask for the grace to hear Your voice clearly, even in the midst of life's distractions and noise.

(James 1:5, Proverbs 3:5-6)

Lord, we thank You for speaking to us through Your Word, Your Spirit, and Your servants. May we be more sensitive to Your voice in all areas of our lives.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17, Romans 8:14)

Father, we ask for the grace to be obedient to Your voice, as Noah was obedient to Your command to build the ark.

(Genesis 6:22, Deuteronomy 28:1)

Lord, help us to trust Your voice even when we do not understand the full picture or the outcome of Your instructions.

(Proverbs 3:5-6, Isaiah 55:8-9)

Father, we pray for the humility to submit to Your voice, even when it contradicts our own desires or plans.

(Philippians 2:8, Luke 22:42)

Lord, we pray for strength to endure any ridicule or opposition that may come as a result of obeying Your voice, just as Noah faced ridicule for building the ark.

(1 Peter 4:12-14, Hebrews 12:1-2)

Father, we ask for divine protection and preservation as we follow Your instructions, just as You protected Noah and his family during the flood.

(Philippians 4:6-7, Isaiah 26:3)

Conclusion:

As we begin this retreat, let us open our hearts to hear the voice of God as He speaks to us in the midst of troubling times. Just as Noah was faithful in hearing and obeying God's command to build the ark, we too must be faithful in listening to God’s voice in these challenging times. May our hearts be sensitive, our minds clear, and our spirits obedient to His leading.

*Session 2: Faith to Obey Against All Odds*

Similarly, in our lives, we are called to obey God even when circumstances seem impossible or when others doubt us. This session will focus on praying for the strength to remain obedient to God's voice, no matter the opposition, distractions, or uncertainties. In the same way, we are called to live righteous lives and build a legacy that reflects God's values, even in a society that often disregards them. This session is focused on praying for the grace to build a legacy of righteousness that will endure beyond us, impacting future generations. Let us leave a godly heritage, one that will continue to influence and lead others toward Christ.

*Session 4: Succeeding in an Evil Age*

Anchor Scripture:

Genesis 6:5-8

“Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the Lord said, ‘I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.’ But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.”

Introduction:

Noah’s success was not measured by wealth, fame, or the approval of society but by his relationship with God and his obedience to His will in a corrupt and evil world. Just as Noah found favor with God and succeeded despite the wickedness around him, we too can succeed in this present age by focusing on our relationship with God, standing firm in our faith, and trusting in His guidance. This session will focus on praying for the grace to succeed in the midst of an evil world, trusting that God will make a way where there seems to be none.

As we seek to succeed in this evil age, may we always remember that our success is rooted in our relationship with God, and His grace is more than enough to carry us through. Let us commit to trusting Him in all things, knowing He will lead us to victory.

*Session 5: Preparing for God’s Provision*

You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal, a male and his female; two each of animals that are unclean, a male and his female; also seven each of birds of the air, male and female, to keep the species alive on the face of all the earth.’”

Introduction:

Noah's obedience was not just about following God's instructions, but also about preparing for the provision God had promised. God provided for Noah in the midst of the flood, ensuring that Noah’s family and the animals were preserved. This session focuses on the importance of preparing for God’s provision in every aspect of our lives. Let us commit to preparing wisely for the future, trusting that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory.

Of clean animals, of animals that are unclean, of birds, and of everything that creeps on the earth, two by two they went into the ark to Noah, male and female, as God had commanded Noah.”

Introduction:

In a world full of chaos and danger, Noah's ark became a place of safety and protection. It was not just a physical shelter but a divine refuge, keeping Noah and his family safe from the judgment that surrounded them. Noah's faith was not only evident in his obedience but also in his trust in God's timing. He waited for God's command to enter the ark, even as he saw the floodwaters approaching. Trusting God's timing can be difficult, especially when we are faced with uncertainty or when things don't seem to be happening according to our expectations. As we step into the new year, let us hold on to the truth that God is never early or late, but always right on time. By trusting in His perfect timing, we will see His plans for us unfold in ways that exceed our expectations.

*Session 8: Obedience in the Midst of Challenges*

Anchor Scripture: Genesis 7:17-20

“And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth. And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters. And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.”

In our lives, we face challenges, temptations, and trials that test our faith and obedience. Anchor Scripture: Genesis 7:21-24

“And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark. And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.”

Introduction:

As the floodwaters of judgment prevailed upon the earth, Noah and his family were kept safe inside the ark, navigating the storm through their faith in God's promises. No matter how overwhelming the situation may seem, God's presence is our refuge, and His promises will not fail.
