*LESSONS FROM ANANIAS AND SAPPHIRAA*

*The story of Ananias and Sapphira, his wife has so many lessons to teach us.* 


Ananias and Sapphira were Part of the early Church who did all things in common.


Believers sold all their Personal Properties by choice and brought all the Proceeds to the Apostles. 


Ananias and his wife sold theirs but kept Part of the Proceeds and brought the remainder to the Apostles. 


Peter being full of the Holy Spirit knew what the couple had done. He asked them if they had brought all the Proceeds of the land they sold and they both answered that they had brought all. 


Peter then asked them why they had conspired to lie to the Holy Spirit and immediately they dropped dead - *Acts 5: 1-11*


*Several lessons stem from this short story. Some of them are:*


*(1)* Serving God is by Choice and not by Force. 


When we make the Choice to serve God, we must be sincere in our Service. 


The couple had not been forced to sell their land. They chose to do so but were not sincere in their actions - *Joshua 24:15*


When we make the Choice to serve God, He desires Truth in the inward Parts - *Psalms 51:6*


*(2)* God knows all things.  


No man knew what they had agreed to do in secret, but God knew and revealed same to Peter. 


There is nothing hid that shall not be revealed sooner or later - *Matthew 10:26*


*(3)* Darkness attracts darkness; light attracts light.


Ananais was a liar and his wife was a liar, both were in Agreement. 


No evil man will be in Agreement with a Good Nan for long, the relationship will be destroyed. 


If we need Good Men around us, we must be Good. 


No Good Man will ever be comfortable for long  with an evil man - *Amos 3:3*


*(4)* Light reveals what is in the dark.


Ananias and his wife came close to Peter and their secret deals were revealed. 


Simon the Sorcerer had been bewitching Samaria but when Philip took the Gospel to the City, the light of the Gospel revealed Simon's lies. *Acts 8:1-13*


*(5)* Light will be separated from darkness. 


In the beginning, when the Lord spoke Light into existence, He divided Light from darkness - *Genesis 1:4*


Peter was separated from the lying couple. 


*(6)* Death is the result of lying. 


Liars will suffer Physical and Spiritual deaths - *Jeremiah 50:36, Revelation 21:8*


*(7)* Lying must be killed before it kills us. 


If the couple had killed lying, it would not have ended their lives ABRUPTLY. 


*This story is written for our admonition so that the wise can be wiser.* 


*Prayer:*

Father, Please help me to avoid the errors of Ananias and his wife so that I may live long in the land of the living in Jesus Christ Name.
