*THE INADEQUACY OF HELP FROM AROUND*

SCRIPTURE: Thus says the Lord : “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his Strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord - *Jeremiah 17:5*


One of the ways a man can receive Help is from, People and Positions around.


There was a great famine in Samaria because the City was besieged by the Host of Syria. 


Two women agreed to eat their children, one surrendered her child and was eaten, while the other woman refused to surrender her own child. 


The woman who surrendered her own child felt cheated and ran to the King for help. The king replied that he cannot help, if God refuses to help - *2 Kings 6:24-27*


*It is not unusual for us to run to men in Positions of Rulership, Authority and even affluence for Help when we are in trouble.*


*Most often, we are disappointed because man is limited in Power, Resources and Availability.*


When Ziklag was invaded, David and Mighty men of war that could help to ward off the invasion were not available. 


Those who were available could not help to ward off the invasion, therefore the Amalekites carried away the women and the children - *1 Samuel 30:1-4*


*From the aforementioned, it is clear that Help from around is inadequate.* 


The Bible confirms in our Text above that cursed is anyone who trusts in man and makes flesh his arm and whose heart is departed from God - *Jeremiah 17:5*


*Therefore, the most reliable direction of Help is from Above.* 


He is not limited in anyway. He is the Possessor of the Heavens and the Earth. He is a very Present Help in trouble - *Psalms 46:1*


This means that in time of trouble, He is always Present and able to Help.


*Prayer:*

Father, Please take my heart away from seeking the Help from around, so that my eyes can be lifted to You for Help in Jesus Christ Name.
