*By Pastor E O Gabriel 20 March 2025: Share*
SCRIPTURE: Surely Goodness and Mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever - *Psalms 23:6*
*We have a great journey ahead of us - the Journey of a New Year*
In our text above, when there was a Journey ahead of David, a man after God's Own Heart, he decreed that surely Goodness and Mercy shall follow him all the days of his. life.
According to *Job 22:28:* As he made the decree, it was established unto him and several blessings followed him:
(1) Fearless Living.
When the Goodness and the Mercy of the Lord followed David, he lived a fear free life.
He said in *Psalms 27:1:* Of whom shall l fear? Of whom shall l be afraid?
Therefore, in *1 Samuel 17,* when the whole of Israel feared Goliath greatly and hid themselves from him, it was only David that was courageous enough to face Goliath.
*In these "Year", you will live a fear free life.*
*2 Timothy 1:7 says:* God has not given us the Spirit of fear but of Power, of Love and of a Sound Mind.
(2) He enjoyed a life of Defence.
With Goodness and Mercy following, the Lord hid David in His Pavilion and in the Secret of His Tabernacle in the time of trouble - *Psalms 27:5*
Therefore, the two occasions that Saul cast his Javelin against David, the Lord defended David - *1 Samuel 18 : 10-11 & 1 Samuel 19: 9-10*
*The Goodness and Mercy of the Lord will defend us against all the evils of the "Year" in Jesus Name - Amen.*
(3) Life full of Testimonies.
David shared his Powerful Testimonies in *Psalms 40:1-3.*
*His Testimonies include:*
(a) Testimony of Answered Prayers - *Psalms 40:1*
(b) Testimony of Deliverance from the Horrible Pit and Miry Clay - *Psalms 40:2*
*He was brought out of the Unpleasant Situations of life.*
(c) His feet was set on a Rock - *Psalms 40:3*
*He was saved from sinking, he was saved from anti-progress forces. An end came to the wasters in his life.*
(d ) His Going was Established - *Psalms 40:3*
*He enjoyed Unhindered Success. His Progress was Speedy and Steady.*
(e) Testimony of New Songs - *Psalms 40:3:*
*With Goodness and Mercy following, Fallow Grounds shall be broken and New Songs of Joy will break forth.*
*With all these Wonders of Goodness and Mercy, David decided to sustain these blessings* - *Psalms 26:1,11*
*He will not be Hypocritical in his Journey, he will not hide his sin. He made up his mind that as he Journeys, he will bless the Lord at all times.*
*Prayer:*
Father, Please in the Great Journey ahead of me and my family, let us enjoy Your Goodness and Your Mercies in Jesus Christ Name.
