*REBUKE NOT AN ELDER*

SCRIPTURE: Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father, younger men as brothers - *I Timothy 5:1*


Our attitude towards relationships has a lot to do with obtaining our inheritance in Christ. 


For instance, an answered Prayer is our heritage in Christ but it can be denied when husbands don't dwell with their wives according to knowledge, giving them honour as weaker Vessels - *1 Peter 3:7*


*In our text above, Apostle Paul touched on our relationship towards the elders - It is highly important in our journey of Destiny.*


*He said we should not rebuke an elder but rather exhort him.*


*Rebuking an elder even when he is wrong is Unscriptural.*


This explain why David refused to lay his hand against Saul despite the fact that Saul had cast his javelin at him twice. 


*The chastisement of the elders are not to be executed by the younger ones.*


*The Bible says the elders that rule well deserve double honour, which implies that the elders who do not rule well still deserve singular honour* - *1 Peter 5:17*


*We are encouraged to wisely let our speech be seasoned with salt in answering every man, including the elders* - *Colossians 4:6*


*Therefore, it is imperative to relate cautiously with our elders so as not to cut short our journey in life.*


Besides, whatsoever a man sows he will reap. 


*Our attitude towards our elders will determine how we are going to be treated when we become elders.*


*Prayer:*

Father, Please help me never to react negatively to an elder, give me Grace to give them the honour due to them in Jesus Christ Name.
