*SELF DENIAL: THE PRICE OF FOLLOWING CHRIST*

SCRIPTURE: Then Jesus said to His Disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me -*Matthew 24:16*


*Our Lord Jesus Christ spoke to the Disciples that Self Denial is the Price to Pay to follow after Him.*


*Self Denial involves giving up our desires and conveniences; getting off the driver's seat of our life and living for Him.*


*There are several reasons self denial is important in our walk with Christ.*


1. First, two (2) Masters cannot be in the same boat. 


We cannot be in the same boat with Christ and be issuing orders to Him, therefore we must let Him lead, while we follow. 


Paul, the Apostle said: Be ye followers of me even as I am of  Christ. *1 Corinthians 11:1*


*It takes self Denial to follow.*


2. Secondly, a Natural man cannot comprehend the things of the Spirit, they are foolishness unto him - *1 Corinthians 2:14*


The words of Christ are Spirit and they are life - *John 6:63*


Therefore, it takes Self Denial to receive the Words of our Lord.


3. Thirdly, Self Denial is required to overcome many distractions on our way, in following after Christ.


Demas was distracted out of the way because of his inability to denial himself. 


Paul said Demas has forsaken me having loved this Present world - *2 Timothy 4:10*


*Therefore, for a closer walk with God and steady Spiritual Growth, Self Denial is Non Negotiable. 


*Prayer:*

Father, Please give me the Grace to deny myself daily, that I may Please You all the days of my life in Jesus Christ Name.
