*SPEEDING IN A WRONG DIRECTION*

SCRIPTURE: who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy -

*Proverbs 29:1*


From the day King Saul disobeyed God in sparing Agag the king of the Amalek and took of the spoil, his life began to slide down a wrong path. 


Thereafter, he laid hold upon the skirt of Samuel and it tore. The Spirit of God departed from Saul and an evil spirit began troubling him. He also started seeking to end David's life.


Speeding down a wrong Path caused Saul to disguise himself, to seek help from a woman at Endor who had a familiar spirit - *1 Samuel 28:7*

 

*All of which resulted in his tragic death.*


Saul's destruction was avoidable but for his stubbornness. Samuel Preached to him that rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry, yet he despised the Message - *1 Samuel 15:23*


*Saul according to our text was destroyed without a remedy.*


*Causes Of Speeding In A Wrong Direction:*


(1) Yielding to disobedience - *1 Samuel 15:9*


(2) Being wise in one's eyes - *Proverbs 3:7*


(3)  Fearing men rather than God - *1 Samuel 15:24*


(4) Inability to take responsibility - *1 Samuel 15:21*


(5) Preferring Positions or Titles to one's relationship with God - *1 Samuel 15:30*


*Let us take a look at some Signs that confirm you are speeding on a wrong road:*


(1) Living a life of Pretence - *1 Samuel 15:13*


(2) Passing the blame - *1 Samuel 15:15*


(3) Trying to justify mistakes - *1 Samuel 15:21*


(4) Struggling to maintain one's Position or Title - *1 Samuel 15:30*


(5) When the voice that used to be a blessing  becomes irrelevant to you. 


*Samuel came no more to Saul because he no longer respected him* - *1 Samuel 15:35*


*Speeding off a wrong road can be averted by simply humbling one's self before God in repentance and submitting to His leading.*


*Prayer:*

Father, Please give me the heart of repentance that will save me from speeding off in a wrong direction in Jesus Christ Name.
