*COME UP AND OUT YOUR DUNGEON (1)*

SCRIPTURE: Then the king commanded Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, saying, “Take from here thirty men with you, and lift Jeremiah the Prophet out of the dungeon before he dies" - *Jeremiah 38:10*


Jeremiah was a fearless Prophet of God who declared the Counsel of God undiluted to the Nation of Judah. He spoke of the imminent captivity of Judah in Babylon and three Powerful Princes conspired together to end Jeremiah's life - *Jeremiah 38:1* 


The king consented to their request to kill Jeremiah. He was cast into a dungeon that had no water, but was muddy. They intended not to shed his blood but that he would die of hunger, loneliness, helplessness, filthiness, suffocation and the likes.


Unknown to them, God had Positioned a servant named Ebed-melech in the Palace, who heard that Jeremiah was to be put to death and fearlessly went to the King. By custom, he was not Permitted to come before the king unless he was invited but fearlessly, he broke Protocol and told the King the things happening to Jeremiah the Prophet, was evil.


The King then commanded him to take thirty men to bring Jeremiah out of the dungeon. He did and Jeremiah came up and out of the dungeon.


*Several lessons to be learnt:*


*(1)* The dungeon of hunger, sickness, marital delays, indebtedness, rejection, depression, repression is not your final destination, help is on your way - Amen.


*You may not see it nor feel it but, there is an Ebed-melech already raised by God who is already at work on your behalf.*


*(2)* It is impossible for God to abandon you at your great moment of need. 


The King and the Princes had abandoned Jeremiah in the dungeon but God did not. He said, I will not leave you nor forsake you - *Hebrews 13:5*


He is the Present Help in time of need - *Psalms 46:1*


*(3)* Three men cast Jeremiah into the Pit but the King raised thirty men to bring him up.


*The men who will stand by you in your dungeon will be in multiples of those who stand against you.*


Ye are of God; little children, and have overcome them because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in world - *1 John 4:4*


Those who are with you are more than those who are against you. 


*(4)* Those who cast Jeremiah into the dungeon were Princes, next in hierarchy to the King, Powerful men, highly connected but Ebed-melech raised by God was an "Ordinary Servant", less Privileged and he had no direct access to the King.


*God can use even the most despised things in the world to execute your release from the dungeon* -  *1 Corinthians 1:27*


*(5)* Your coming up and out of the dungeon is certain and sure.


Many are the afflictions of the righteous but God will deliver him from them all - *Psalms 34:19*


*Certainly, those who are laughing at you will soon laugh with you - Amen.*


*Prayer:*

Father, Please arise and shame all those responsible for my dungeon experience in Jesus Christ Name.
