*EVIDENCE OF A PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE*

SCRIPTURE:  Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before - *Philippians 3:13* 


God does nothing without a Purpose; man is a created for a Purpose - *Genesis 1:26*


Jeremiah was raised for a Purpose - *Jeremiah 1:5*


Pharaoh was raised for a Purpose - *Romans 9:17*


Jesus stepped down from eternity into time, for a Purpose - *1 John 3:8*

 

*Therefore, life is meant to be Purpose driven.*


*Unfortunately, for various reasons not all lives are lived on Purpose.*


Our text above depicts the evidence of a Purpose driven life:


*(1)* It is a focused life. It is a life of: *'One thing I do.'*


Only one thing matters to a Purposed driven life. 


Jesus said to Martha in *Luke 10:40-42,* despite all her activities, only one thing is needful.


If the eye be single, the whole body will be full of light - *Matthew 6:22*


*(2)*  It is an active life - A life that focuses on reaching forth. 


The Purpose of such a life consistently drives it and causes such a man to Press towards the mark.


A Purpose driven man will not mind the contrary wind. 


He sustains his Progress and keeps advancing knowing that every wind blows in his favour - *Romans 8:28*


*(3)* A Purpose driven life will refuse to be defined or enslaved by the Past, forgetting those things that are behind.


Learning from the failure of the Past but not allowing the Past to be the Prophet of the future, is a mark of a Purpose driven life. 


*(4)* A Purpose driven life, redeems the time, maximising the use of time, eliminating time wasters and avoiding men of no Purpose - *Ephesians 5:16, Psalms 1:1 Proverbs 13:20*


*(5)* It strives for the Prize.


Men of Purpose are highly Motivated by the Prize of their sacrifices - *1 Corinthians 9:25*


David asked what shall be done to the man that killed Goliath - *1 Samuel 17:26*


Our Lord Jesus endured the shame of the Cross for the Joy that was set before  Him - *Hebrews 12:2*


The Lord is the Creator of the Heavens, the Earth and everything in it. 


We are the work of His hands and are made for His Pleasure - *Revelations 4:11*


*Therefore, our life must be lived for and to the Glory of God and God alone.*


*Prayer:*

Father, Please help me to live my life for Your Glory and help me to run with Purpose and Perseverance the race set before me in Jesus Christ Name.
