*TENACITY: KEY TO SUCCESS*

*By Pastor E O Gabriel  25 April 2025: Share*

SCRIPTURE: We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we  are Perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed - *2 Corinthians 4:8-9*

*Sometimes great achievement arrive much later than we expect but when it arrives, it is great.*

Naaman needed to dip himself in River Jordan seven times before he was cleansed of leprosy.

Elijah had to Pray earnestly seven times before his Prophecy of abundant rain, turned into Manifestation.

Jacob had to tenaciously wrestle with an Angel for the threat of death on him to give way to life.

*Nothing worthwhile comes to a man who is not tenacious because most great doors don't open easily.*

*What is tenacity?*

*(1)* It is the ability to hang on when giving up appears most attractive.

When Elijah was to be taken up by a whirlwind, he repeatedly told Elisha to go back from following him.

Going back was most attractive but Elisha stayed on.

His tenacity Paid off because he received a double portion of the Spirit on Elijah - *2 Kings 2:1-11*

*(2)* It is the quality of going forward against all odds.

The children of Israel were being Pursued by the Egyptians, the Red Sea was ahead of them but they went forward in spite of the apparent dead end.

Their tenacity Paid off because the Red Sea opened for them - *Exodus 14: 13-17*

*Difficult doors open only for the tenacious.*

*(3)* It is the ability to stand up after one has  fallen.

For a Just Man falls seven times and rises up again - *Proverbs 24:16*

*In our text above, Paul said we are cast down but not destroyed.*

*How do we develop tenacity?*

*(1)* Discover the right thing to do, the right place to be and the right direction to go.

*(2)* Stand firm.

*(3)* Look not on things that are seen.

*(4)* Turn a deaf ear to News that can melt your hearts and cause fear and doubts.

*(5)* Keep encouraging yourself in the Lord.

*(6)* Give thanks continually to God.

*(7)* Expect the best result.

*Success is often not a matter of talent but a matter of tenacity.*

*Prayer:*

Father, Please when giving up on my journey of Destiny becomes a temptation, help me to be tenacious in Jesus Christ Name.
