*A CITY SET ON A HILL (Part 2)*

SCRIPTURE: “You are the light of the world. A City that is set on a Hill cannot be hidden -*Matthew 5:14*
Yesterday, we studied on the meaning of a City.
*Today, we want to take a look at the meaning of a Hill.*
A Hill is the opposite of a valley. To understand what a valley is, take a look at the Scripture that says: 'Yea, though I walk through the valley of shadow of death, I shall fear no evil for thou are with me, thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.' *Psalms 23:4*
*From this verse, David gave us a Picture of the things associated with a valley. Five things were mentioned, these include:*
(1) Shadow
(2) Evil
(3) Fear
(4) Death
(5) Mourning
*A Shadow,* is a dark reflection.
There is darkness in the valley and this is true because a valley is a low point between two hills.
*Therefore, a valley experience is one of walking in darkness.*
When a man is walking in darkness, he cannot see, his speed is hindered and he will stumble.
In darkness, a man begins to experience all kinds of evil such as failure, disappointments, loses, sickness, fruitlessness, fear, sorrow and mourning.
But, Jesus said believers are cities on a hill.
Therefore, they are translated from darkness to light - *Colossians 1:13, Peter 2:9*
Every Believer is Positioned to enjoy the opposite of valley experiences.
Jesus said, 'I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly" - *John 10:10b*
Therefore, Christ has exchanged light for darkness, Good for evil, Faith for fear, life for death and comfort for mourning.
It is Possible as a City on a Hill, to find yourself in the valley.
David said though he walks through the valley of the shadow of death, he will fear no evil.
Remember this when you find yourself in the valley; you are just walking through. You will eventually walk out of the valley to the Mountain top.
David said but thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my Glory, and the lifter of mine head - *Psalms 3:3*
May the Lord lift you out of every valley experience.
*Prayer:*
Father, please lift up my head and let my valley experiences come to a Permanent end in Jesus Christ Name.
