*LOOK BEYOND THE COST*

As believers, we manifest our Heritage as overcomers, when we look beyond the cost of following Christ, and look towards the Joy that is set before us.


Israel was looking for someone to face Goliath, when David came on board and heard him defying the whole Nation of Israel. 


The question that came to David's heart, was: *What  shall be done to the man that kills Goliath and takes away the reproach from Israel?* - *1 Samuel 17:26*


The People answered him and the rewards were well spelt out for him.


With the reward at the back of his mind, he was no longer focusing on the cost of confronting the Philistine, he was being Propelled and inspired by the reward. 


*It is foolishness to put your life on the line, when you stand to gain nothing.*


*Many are giving up in their Christian race because they focus on the cost, rather than the reward of staying true till the end.*


Paul said I have suffered the loss of all things and do count them but dung that I may win Christ - *Philippians 3:8*


No one can confidently confront and overcome the temptations that arise against our Faith, without the consciousness of the reward of being an overcomer. 


*Let us take a look at some of the rewards:*


*(1)* When the trumpet sounds, those who died in Christ shall be changed from corruptible to incorruptible, from mortality to immortality - *1 Corinthians 15:53-54*


*(2)* God will send His Angels to usher us into Heaven, as it was in the case of Elijah - *2 Kings 2:11*


*(3)* When Christ appears, we will be like Him - *1 John 3:2*


*(4)* Our Lord Jesus Christ will usher us into Heaven with a standing ovation, as it was in Stephen's case - *Acts 7:56*


*(5)* Sitting with Christ on His throne - *Revelations 3:21*


*(6)* Living Eternally in a City whose streets are made of Pure Gold - *Revelations 21:21*


*(7)*  Living Eternally in a City where all tears are wiped away; no sickness, no Pain, no sorrow, no death, no darkness and no temptations - *Revelations 21:4*


*(8)* Great deliverance from the torments of the anti-Christ.


*(9)* Great deliverance from spending Eternity in hell where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.


*(10)* The Eternal Joy of worshipping together with all the Saints from different tribes, races, languages and Generations.


*Enduring to the end is worth every cost.* 


*We have a cloud of many Witnesses and we will also be counted among them when our days on Earth is done, if only we shift our focus from the cost of following Christ to the rewards of following Him.*


*Prayer:*

Father, help me to take my eyes away from the challenges of following Christ and be inspired by the rewards and the Glory that is to be revealed as a result of following Christ in Jesus Christ Name.
