SCRIPTURE: “The beauty of Israel is slain on your High Places! How the Mighty have fallen! - *2 Samuel 1:19*
*Every man in life at one Point or another, will have opportunities to make the most out of life and be great.*
The Bible says time and chance happens to them all. *Ecclesiastes 9:11b*
*So many are unable to identify their opportunities for greatness, because it comes dressed in an overall and Presents itself as work.*
Jesus was in the house of one Simon the leper, at Bethany, when a woman with an Alabaster Box of Precious Ointment recognised an opportunity and seized it.
She broke out the oil at Jesus' feet and wiped it with her hair, in worship.
The woman did what now stands for her as a Memorial throughout the world.
She had an encounter in a Place of encounter.
Unfortunately, the host who was a leper never saw an opportunity to be healed - *Matthew 26:6-13*
*It is great disaster to miss out on an opportunity in life.*
*It is an even greater disaster, when a man has an opportunity, for which he is unprepared.*
King Saul had an opportunity to be the first king in Israel.
The opportunity to be a King came on a Platter of Gold but, he was unprepared for the Position.
The consequence was his rebellion against God and the man used by God to anoint him as a King.
This we see Portrayed in David's lamentation as written in our text; the beauty of Israel is slain, the Mighty has fallen and the Glory has departed.
David in his own case adequately Prepared for his Position as King over Israel.
He faced off with a lion and a bear, he faced Goliath and even made Jonathan his Covenant friend to learn the Palace Protocols from him.
Therefore, as a King, he moved from Glory to Glory.
He moved from being King of Judah, to being King over the whole of Israel because he had adequately Prepared himself Physically and Spiritually.
*It is better to Prepare for an opportunity and not have it, than to have an opportunity you did not Prepare for.*
*Prayer:*
Father, Please I don't want to end my life in disaster, give me Grace to Prepare myself for the opportunities ahead of me in Jesus Christ mighty name Amen.
