*TAKE NO OFFENCE*

SCRIPTURE: This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men. *Acts 24:16*
Joseph was imprisoned together with the King's Butler and Baker. They both had a dream, which they told Joseph, requesting its interpretation.
The Butler's dream was a good one but, the Baker's dream wasn't. In interpreting the Butler's dream, Joseph told him the King will lift him out of prison in three (3) days time and he shall be restored to his position in the palace.
Joseph then pleaded with the Butler to remember him, when he is restored to his position before the king. *Genesis 40:14*
*The Butler was Restored to the Palace as Joseph had interpreted but, he did not bring Joseph to remembrance, nor make a case for him before the king.*
In later years, the king had dreams which troubled him because he had no interpretation.
When the Butler knew about it, he remembered he had a similar issue in prison and Joseph's interpretation. This he told the King and Joseph was sent for.
Joseph interpreted the King's dreams and was Promoted as the second in Command.
*The Greatest Lesson of this story is that we should never take an offence when those who we expect to help us turn their backs on us.*
*Why must we not take offence?*
*1.* God Commands us to have a conscience void of offence towards God and man.
*2.* God will Arise for us when the appointed time for our help comes. *Psalms 102:13*
*God arose and caused the King to have a troubled dream, when Joseph's appointed time came.*
This led to his Emergence and Promotion from prison.
*3.* God is working at something greater than our expectation.
*All that Joseph wanted was that he would be freed from prison but God was working at making him a Prime Minister.*
God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think. *Ephesians 3:20*
*4.* If man Lobbied for you to lifted, he can equally lobby for you to be cast down.
*But, if it is God who lifted you, no man can cast you down.*
*5.* God will never share His glory with anyone. *Isaiah 42:8*
If the Butler had lobbied for Joseph to be freed and given a position in the Palace, he would have become a 'god' to Joseph.
*But, Joseph knew that his freedom and lifting could only have been God.*
Joseph could boldly sing that this is the Lord's doing, it is marvellous in our eyes. *Psalms 118:23*
Going about with a conscience full of offence because of someone's failure to help us is highly detrimental to our destiny.
We ought to purge ourselves of every offence so that we will see the Glory of God.
*Prayer:*
Father, please when men disappoint me, let me not be offended but hope in Your Salvation in Jesus Christ Name.
