*THE EVERLASTING FATHER*

SCRIPTURE: For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the Government will be upon His shoulder. And His Name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace - *Isaiah 9:6*


The story of the Prodigal son shows that everyone needs a father. 


He got his inheritance from his father, wasted it on "Riotous Living" and there arose a famine which made his condition unbearable. Things got so bad for him that he was eating the food meant for pigs.


He had nowhere to go and no one to turn to. 


Then, it dawned on him that he should go back to his father.


When his father saw him coming, he remembered no more his "Riotous Living"; he ran in Joy to meet him. 


The Prodigal son ran into the loving, compassionate, forgiving and kind embrace of his father and life returned to him abundantly.

*What a great Privilege in life to have a Good father! Living will be worthwhile with a Good father.* 


Unfortunately, some Earthly fathers abuse and curse their children, one way or the other. 


Jacob at the Point of death, Pronounced a curse on Rueben, his firstborn and he and his lineage lived under the consequences of the curse for several years until Moses cancelled the curse - *Genesis 49:3-4*


But, even Good fathers don't last forever, at their appointed time, they die. 


When Jacob died, his son Joseph wept Profusely and the Egyptians mourned seventy days for him.


*Fortunately for Mankind about two thousand years ago, a Child was born and a Son was given, and He is the Everlasting Father.*


*This is great Hope for Mankind; we now have a Father that cannot be taken away by death, He has no beginning, no end and He lives forever* - *Revelations 1:18*


*We now have a father who loves us much more than our Earthly fathers.*


The Bible says Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends - *John 15:13*


We now have a father who will not bring to remembrance any horrible Past, as a result of bad decisions, because His blood cleanses from all sins - *1 John 1:7*


We now have a Father who can help us where our Earthly fathers are helpless because He is the very Present Help in times of trouble - *Psalms 46:1*


When the three Hebrew men were thrown into the fiery furnace, if their Earthly fathers were alive, they would have been helpless but the Everlasting Father came down to help them.


*Therefore, as we celebrate this Season, we need to heartily embrace the Everlasting Father by stepping out of our sins  and receiving His forgiveness.*


*Prayer:* 

Father, let me not celebrate this Season without a Good Relationship of Father and son/daughter with You in Jesus Christ Name.
