*FRUITFULNESS IN AFFLICTION*

*By Pastor E O Gabriel  04 June 2025: Share*

SCRIPTURE: And the name of the second he called Ephraim: “For God has caused me to be Fruitful in the land of my affliction” -

*Genesis 41:52*

Joseph had two sons: Manasseh and Ephraim.

The interpretation of their names were Symbolic of Joseph's journey in life.

*Ephraim means the Lord has caused me to be Fruitful in the land of my affliction, because God beautified Joseph in the same land he was sent as a Captive.*

What the enemy meant for  evil, God turned around for his Good - *Genesis 50:20*

Joseph was a Prosperous Man in Slavery - *Genesis 39:2*

All that Joseph did even in Prison Prospered - *Genesis 39:23*

*Joseph's life testifies that, it is Possible to be Fruitful in the land of affliction.*

*Therefore, with the right relationship and attitude, Fruitfulness in affliction is Possible.*

Right relationships, facilitate Fruitfulness in affliction.

*He had a Relationship with God and sustained the Relationship in affliction. This was the greatest secret of his Fruitfulness.*

The Bible says his Master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all that he did to Prosper - *Genesis 39:3*

*His Relationship with God, is the key to his Fruitfulness.*

Jesus said I am the Vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit, for without me ye can do Nothing - *John 15:5*

*Therefore, sustaining one's Relationship with God even in affliction, will bring forth Fruitfulness*

*The right attitude in affliction, is also very crucial.*

Attitude involves feelings, values, beliefs and dispositions that makes an individuals to act or behave in a certain way.

*Your Problem isn't Significant, your attitude about the Problem is.*

Joseph had the right attitude to affliction in his life, he certainly believed that whatever God allowed to come to him is for his Good - *Romans 8:28*

He was therefore never resentful in affliction.

And because he was never resentful, he was always willing to be a Blessing wherever he was.

He was a blessing in Potiphar's house and he was a blessing in Prison.

*Prayer:*

Father, Please help me to grow in my Relationship with You in crisis, and develop a Positive Attitude that will cause me to be Fruitful in affliction in Jesus Christ Name.
