*SUSTAINING THE GLORY*

SCRIPTURE: Now when the sons of the Prophets who were from Jericho saw him, they said, “The Spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” And they came to meet him, and bowed to the ground before him - *2 Kings 2:15*


The fifty sons of the Prophets at Jericho saw Elisha after his Master had been taken up and bowed to him. They bowed because they saw the Glory of God upon him and declared that the Spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.


*Whoever carries the Glory of God must be Passionate about sustaining it because several things can happen to the Glory of God upon a man - For instance:*


*(1)* The Glory can become Icabod - *1 Samuel 4:21*


*The Glory can depart and when it departs, the Man begins to talk of Good Old Days. Such a man becomes an Ex-Champion, an Ex-Properous or an Ex-  Favoured Man.*


*(2)* The Glory can fly away.


The Bible says as for Ephraim, their Glory shall fly away like a bird - *Hosea 9:11*


*When the Glory flies away the Man becomes a Ghost of himself.*


*(3)* The Glory can be stripped.


The Bible says he hath stripped me of my Glory and taken away my Crown - *Job 19:9*


When a Man is sacked from office or summarily dismissed or impeached or overthrown from office, he has been stripped of his Glory.


Vashti the Queen was stripped of her Glory and her fame died - *Esther 1*


Absalom wanted to strip David, his father of his Glory but God frustrated his efforts.


*(4)* Glory can go to sleep. 


When a man is wrongly Positioned in Life, when a man is on the wrong side of Destiny, his Glory will go to sleep.


The Glory of David went to sleep so a highly Gifted and talented Musician, Organist, Warrior, Leader was sentenced to a life imprisonment with the sheep.


But he cried to God, awake up, my Glory - *Psalms 57:8*


God answered his Prayer and he relocated from the bush, to face Goliath and the world began to sing his Praise - *1 Samuel 18:7*


*(5)* The Glory can shine more and more - *Proverbs 4:18*


*When the Glory is sustained it will shine more and more.*


*The key to sustaining the Glory is refusing to rebel or do wickedly against God.*


*Prayer:*

Father, Please help me never to grieve You, so that my Glory will shine more and more in Jesus Christ Name.
