*TURN STONE TO BREAD*

SCRIPTURE: And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread - *Luke 4:3*

Our Lord Jesus was tempted in the wilderness by the devil. He said to him command this stone that it be made bread.

But Jesus refused saying Man shall not live by bread alone.

*Let us consider in details why Jesus refused.*

All Power belongs to God - *Psalms 62:11*

He has the Power to turn stone to bread. 

Jesus said God is able to raise children from stones - *Luke 3:8*

*If God can raise children from stones, He can turn stone to bread. What God cannot do, does not exist.*

*But Jesus refused to turn stone to bread for the followings reasons amongst others:*

*(1)* He refused to do the bidding of the devil.

No matter how good the bidding may be, if it is from the devil, it must be refused because there is no blessing in obeying the devil.

We are blessed only if we diligently obey the Voice of the Lord our God - *Deuteronomy 28:1-14*

*(2)* Jesus refused because it was an abuse of Power. 

The devil was asking him to use the Power for his Personal Gain.

The Power of God has given to Man to be His Witness, is to draw Men unto Him and not meant for Personal Gain - *Acts 1:8*

*(3)* Jesus refused because the Wisdom of God supersedes His Power. 

God can create bread from stone but by His Wisdom it is better from flour. God made all things by wisdom - *Psalms 104:24, Psalms 136:5*

*(4)* Jesus refused because the devil said, it was the Miracle that will validate His Claim as the Son of God. 

A Voice has spoken from Heaven introducing Jesus as the beloved Son of God - *Luke 3:22*

He needed no Miracle to validate His Sonship.

We are called to cast him out and not to impress him - *Mark 3:14-15*

*(5)* Jesus refused because Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Words that Proceed out of the mouth of the Lord - *Deuteronomy 8:3, Luke 4:4*

*If Jesus refused to turn stone to bread, anyone eating bread from stone is eating from the table of the devil.*

*The Bible says, the bread of deceit is sweet to a Man but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel* - *Proverbs 20:17*

*Prayer:*

Father, Please turn away from me the bread of deceit so that my mouth is not filled with Gravel in Jesus Christ Name.
