*BE STEADFAST IN CHALLENGING TIMES*

SCRIPTURE: But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the expression on his face changed towards Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. He spoke and commanded that they heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated - *Daniel 3:18‭-‬19*

The three Hebrew Men Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were steadfast in the midst life threatening Challenges. 

The king had set up a Golden Image for everyone to bow to, or be thrown into a fiery furnace.

The three Hebrew Men were resolute and unwavering in their resolve not to serve any idol even at the risk of  their lives.

*Let us take a look at what to do to be Steadfast in Challenging times:*

*(1)* To know God.

They said the Lord whom we serve is able to deliver us - *Daniel 3:18*

The Bible says, those who know their God shall be Strong and do Exploits - *Daniel 11:32*

*(2)* To obey God rather than Men - *Acts 5:29*

*(3)* To remember always the Faithfulness of God in the Past.

*(4)* To love God more than  one's life.

The Hebrew boys said even if God decides not to deliver them, they will not serve the gods of the king.

*(5)* To know that no Sacrifice is too much to make for God.

They were heartily ready to Sacrifice their lives to keep God's Commandments not to serve any god beside Him - *Deuteronomy 5:9*

*It is important to add that God rewards Steadfastness in Challenging times.*

*Let us look at some of the Rewards of their Steadfastness:*

*(1)* God was with them in their Challenges - *Daniel 3:24-25*

*(2)* They walked through and out of their Challenges Unhurt - *Daniel 3:27*

*(3)* Their enemies were Permanently Silenced - *Daniel 3:22*

*(4)* Their Steadfastness turned many into Righteousness - *Daniel 3:28-29*

*(5)* They were Promoted - *Daniel 3:30*

*With these, it is clear that Steadfastness in Challenging times is a Blessing and not a Curse.*

*Prayer:* 

Father, help me to be Resolute and Unwavering in Challenging times in Jesus Christ Name.
