*MARY, A WONDERFUL MARRIAGE COUNSELLOR*

SCRIPTURE: Where no Counsel is, the People fall: But in the Multitude of Counsellors there is safety - *Proverbs 11:14*

There was a wedding at Cana of Galilee and Mary  the mother of Jesus was Present. Jesus was there also - *John 2:1-2*

While the Ceremony was on, the wine finished and Mary informed Jesus they had no wine. Jesus told her His Hour had not come. Still, Mary turned to the Servants and told them to do whatever Jesus instructed. 

Jesus eventually intervened and made wine available for them, which was more Superior than the wine that finished.

*Every Marriage needs a wonderful Counsellor like Mary, the mother of Jesus.*

Our Anchor Text teaches that where there is no Counsel People fall but in the Multitude of Counsellors there is Safety .

*For a Successful Marriage, in addition to inviting Jesus, we need a Wonderful Counsellor like Mary.*

*Let us see the qualities that distinguishes Mary from other Counsellors:*

*(1)* She had a relationship with Christ.

Christ is the Wisdom of God and except a Man has Christ, he or she will only be Wise in the eyes of the world.

*(2)* She related the issue in the Marriage to Christ. 

She said to Christ they had no wine.

*A Good Marriage Counsellor must be Prayerful, because it is not by Power nor by Might, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of Hosts* - *Zechariah 4:6*

*The Counsellor who only talks, can make no impact.*

*(3)* She was determined to get results. 

Despite the response she got from the Lord, she didn't give up.

*(4)* She counselled the Servants to do what the Lord asked them to do.

She taught on the need to be Obedient to the Will of God in Marriage - *Isaiah 1:19*

*(5)* She was not out for Self Glory. 

All that she did, revolved round God and not herself - *1 Corinthians 10:31*

*These are the least attributes a Good Marriage Counsellor should Possess.* 

*Therefore, when we bring in Someone who does not Possess these Qualities, they will ruin our Marriage.*

*Prayer:*

Father, Please keep far from me anyone who will ruin my Marriage no matter how close he or she may be in Jesus Christ Name.
