*OVERCOMING THE CHALLENGES OF WAITING*

SCRIPTURE: I waited Patiently for the LORD; And He inclined unto me, and heard my cry - *Psalms 40:1*

The Psalmist waited Patiently for the Lord, for the Time Appointed by God for His intervention, for the Fulfillment of His Promises and for turning Visions and Dreams into Realities. 

*The truth is the Waiting is Highly Challenging.*

The Bible says, Hope defers make the heart sick, but when desire comes, it is a tree of Life - *Proverbs 13:12*

*There are quite a number of Challenges, we face while Waiting, some of which are:*

*(1)* Discouragement and Depression. 

Hope deferred makes the heart sick - *Proverbs 13:12*

*(2)* Compromises or Lowering of Standards. 

Abraham and Sarah compromised while Waiting - *Genesis 16:1-4*

Saul compromised while Waiting for Samuel - *1 Samuel 13:8-9*

*(3)* Sorrow.  

Hannah had a Sorrowful Spirit while Waiting - *1 Samuel 1:15*

Job became Sorrowful while Waiting for his Change - *Job 17:7*

*(4)* Making the Present situation the Final Destination. 

Making the Present Predicament, a Cross to carry forever - *2 Kings 4:8-28*

*(5)* Lukewarmness - *Matthew 25:5*

*(6)* Backsliding.

Drawing back unto Perdition - *Exodus 32:1-4*

*How do we overcome?*

*(1)* Lifting up our eyes.

The cure to discouragement and depression is to lift up our eyes - *Genesis 13:14, Psalms 121:1-2*

*(2)* Be constant in Well doing - *Galatians 6:9*

*(3)* Rejoice always - *Proverbs 8:30; Galatians 4:27; Philippians 4:4*

*(4)* Pray fervently - *1 Thessalonians 5:17*

*(5)* Be Grateful - *1 Thessalonians 5:18*

*You are not celebrated for what you receive, but what you give - Giving of Thanks makes you a Celebrity.*

In conclusion, no Mountain is unsurmountable. With the above our Waiting will not be wasted.

*Prayer:*

Father, Please help me to overcome the Challenges of Waiting for your intervention in Jesus Christ Name.
