SEED OF TRANSFORMATION DAILY DEVOTIONAL
*MEAL OF FAITH OR DEFILEMENT?*
*By Pastor E O Gabriel 05 September 2025: Share*
SCRIPTURE: Now when the Tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that Proceeds from the mouth of God” - *Matthew 4:3-4*
Whatever a Man eats is either Medicine or Poison.
Elijah a Mighty Man of Faith stepped down into fear because of Jezebel's threat, he was discouraged, depressed and Praying for death. Thereafter, it was a Meal he took and was Strengthened, encouraged and he walked from Faith to Faith till he was taken up into Heaven - *1 Kings 19:1-8*
The Meal brought about Total Restoration for him and he ended Peaceably.
Similarly, when Daniel was in Babylonianian Captivity, he was conscious of the Truth that whatever a Man eats is either Medicine or a Poison.
The Bible says, that Daniel Purposed in his heart not to defile himself with a Portion of the King's meat, nor with the wine which he drank. Therefore, he requested of the Prince of the Eunuch that he might not defile himself - *Daniel 1:8*
Daniel refused the King's meat, he therefore remained in Faith, walking from Faith to Faith and was able to stop the mouths of Lions - *Hebrews 11:33*
It is noteworthy that it was a Meal that the sons of the Prophet ate and they cried to the Man of God, Elisha there is death in the pot - *2 Kings 4:40*
*Therefore, to keep walking in Faith, we must be Mindful of what we eat.*
In our Anchor Text above, the Devil asked Jesus to command stones to become bread. Jesus replied that it is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that Proceeds from the mouth of God.'
*Living by the Word of God, will move a Man from Faith to Faith, while living by the bread from stones will defile a Man.*
*Therefore, whenever a Meal is set before us, we must ask ourselves, is it a meal of Faith or Defilement?*
*Prayer:*
Father, Please give me the Grace to abstain from every Meal of Defilement that I may walk from Faith to Faith in Jesus Christ Name.
