*THEIR HATRED FOR YOU: A BLESSING IN DISGUISE*

SCRIPTURE: But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many People alive - *Genesis 50:20*

Joseph was hated by his brothers because he was loved by Jacob, their father.

They hated him the more for his two (2) dreams of Greatness. 

*Let us consider the effect of their hatred:*

*(1)* They took from him the coat of many colours which was a Gift from his father.

*Lesson:*

Father stands for the Past, Spouse stands for the Present, while Children stands for the Future.

*When the coat from his father was taken from him, they taught him that you have to empty yourself of the Past to enter into your Future.* - *Isai 43:18-19*

*(2)* He was cast into a well that had no water.

*Lesson:*

His brothers taught him that to go up in Life, you must first go down.

*This means to attain Great Heights in Life, you must humble yourself. The Grace to go Higher in all facets of Life, is given only to the Humble.* - *James 4:6*

*(3)* He was brought out of the well.

*Lesson:*

They taught him that no Condition is Permanent. 

*If you are in a Valley today, you will come out one day. Your Present situation will not be your Final Destination. Weeping may endure for a Night, but Joy comes in the Morning.* - *Psalns 30:5*

*(4)* He was sold into Slavery.

*Lesson:* 

He was taught the Need to sow so that he can reap.

*(5)* He was sold into a Strange Land.

*Lesson:*

They taught him that a Prophet is not without honour, save in his own Land - *Matthew 13:57*

*Therefore, his brothers relocated him to his Land of Honour.*

*(6)* They shed the blood of an animal to substantiate the lie to their father, that he was killed by an animal.

*Lesson:*

They shed blood for his sake to Preserve his Life wherever he went.

Potiphar was the Chief Executioner of King Herod. His wife lied against Joseph of an attempted rape, but he couldn't get Joseph executed because his brothers through hatred had shed Blood for his sake. Joseph was therefore sent into Prison.

*(7)* They caused their father Jacob to weep and sorrow over Joseph, so that he can rejoice exceedingly over him. 

The Bible says, they that sow in tears, shall reap in Joy - *Psalns 126:5*

*What made the hatred of his brothers, a Blessing to Joseph?*

*(1)* He stayed away from sin - *Genesis 39:9*

*(2)* He cherished the Presence of God - *Genesis 39:2*

*(3)* He gave no room for bitterness. 

*No one can be better being bitter* - *Hebrews 12:15*

*(4)* He was a Man of Positive Impact - *Genesis 40:5-22*

*(5)* He learnt to endure Hardness -  *2 Timothy 2:3*

*(6)* He was not full of a Need for revenge - *Genesis 45:5*

*(7)* He patiently waited for what God will do - *Psalns 40:1-3, Hebrews 6:12*

*Prayer:*

Father, Please help me to Possess the Qualities in Joseph so that the hatred of others can work for my Good in Jesus Christ Name.
