*HOLD FAST YOUR INHERITANCES*

SCRIPTURE: So Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, “Give me your Vineyard, that I may have it for a vegetable Garden, because it is near, next to my house; and for it I will give you a Vineyard better than it. Or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its worth in money.” - *1 Kings 21:2*

Naboth had a Vineyard near King Ahab's Palace.  King Ahab demanded for the Vineyard in exchange for a better Vineyard or its money's worth.

Naboth objected saying the Lord forbid that I should give thee the inheritance of my fathers. Ahab went home heavy and displeased.

*There was something about Naboth's Vineyard that made the King desire it Passionately; that is the blessing of God.*

Naboth whose name means to be Fruitful, was of the Tribe of Manasseh, the son of Joseph.

We remember that when Jacob was blessing his children at his old age, he Pronounced that Joseph is a Fruitful bough, even a Fruitful bough by the well - *Genesis 49:22*

This blessing ran down the Lineage of Joseph and flowed down to Naboth.

It was evident that Ahab had seen something different about the Vineyard over time, so that he desperately wanted it.

*When Naboth would not give up the Vineyard, Ahab  through the Counsel of Jezebel his wife, arranged and killed Naboth.*

*This teaches us that our Godly Inheritance, are more Precious than we can imagine, and the devil will do all he can to dispossess us of them. Hence, the need to jealously guard them.*

Our Lord Jesus said, but that which ye have already, hold fast till I come - *Revelation 2:25*

*Hold fast the followings amongst others:*

*(1)* The Faithful Word - *Titus 1:9*

*(2)* The Profession of our Faith - *Hebrews 10:23*

*(3)* The Godly Traditions we have been taught - *2 Thessalonians 2:15*

*(4)* That which is Good - *1 Thessalonians 5:21*

*(5)* Christ in you - *Colosians 1:27*

*Naboth Preferred to die holding on to his Vineyard, than living without the Vineyard he inherited.*

*Living without Inheritance means you don't have anything to pass on to the Next Generation.*

*Prayer:*

Father, Please help me to hold fast to my Inheritance till I see You in Glory in Jesus Christ Name.
