*HUMILITY PROCEEDS  ACCEPTABLE GRATITUDE*

SCRIPTURE: And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan *Luke 17:16*

In our text above, when the healed leper turned back to give thanks, he fell on his face before Jesus. 

*This connotes Humility and it Proceeds Acceptable Gratitude.* 

*Let us therefore look at the Purpose of Humility in Gratitude and also Study the blessing of Humility in Gratitude.*

*The Purpose of humility in gratitude:*

*Humility is the correct assessment of oneself in the sight of God.*

*Through Humility, a man understands the following:*

*(1)* Living is not a right but a Privilege - *Romans 9:15-16*

*(2)* Without God, we can do Nothing - *John 15:5*

*Therefore, whatever a man does is made Possible by God.*

*(3)* Whatever a man has is given by God - *John 3:27*

*(4)* Whatever a man becomes is made Possible by God - *1 Corinthians 15:10*

*(5)* The Lord who lifts up can also cast down - *Psalms 147:6*

*The blessings of Humility in Gratitude:*

*(1)* It helps to recognise that God is in Charge of all things.

*(2)* It enables a man to be Grateful - *James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:5*

*(3)* It makes Gratitude Acceptable to God.

*(4)* It makes Gratitude to yield fruits.

*From the above, it is obvious that Acceptable Gratitude has its root in Humility.*

*Prayer:*

Father, Please give me a heart of Humility that I may thank You Acceptably in Jesus Christ Name.
