   *UNSTABLE AS WATER*

SCRIPTURE: Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; Because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; Then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch - *Genesis 49:4*

Jacob was on his sick bed about to die and turned to Reuben his firstborn, and  took an overview of his Life. 

He remembered how Reuben delivered Joseph from the hands of his other brothers. Joseph would have been killed by his brothers, but for Reuben's intervention. This was a Good Work.

Jacob remembered that the same Reuben had an affair with Bilhah, one of Jacob Concubines. This was evil - *Genesis 35:22*

*Jacob's verdict was that Unstable as water, Reuben shall not excel.*

*Beyond interpreting his Message as a curse, it is a Message to us all that we need to be consistently Good in Life in order to excel.*

*Good work Proceeds from God, and evil works from the devil.*

Jesus said, no one can serve two Masters: for either he will hate one and love the other - *Matthew 6:24*

*Excelling therefore requires a Heart that loves Good Works and hates Evil Practices.* 

This will attract great enablement from God - *Hebrews 1:9*

*Prayer:*

Father, Please give me a Heart that loves Good Works and hates Evil Practices in Jesus Christ Name.
