WHEN ALL THINGS FAIL

*WHEN ALL THINGS FAIL*
*By Pastor E O Gabriel 07 December 2025: Share*
SCRIPTURE: Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labour of the Olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls— Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation - *Habakkuk 3:17-18*
The test of a True Believer is in his response, when all things fail.
There are those who seek after God for what they can get and when things fail, instead of changing their ways, they change their God.
Jesus said to those who were seeking for Him, 'you seek me because you ate bread and were filled.' - *John 6:26*
Job said, though he slay me, yet will I trust Him - *Job 13:15*
He was saying when all things fail, He will still be my God.
In our text above, Prophet Habakkuk Preached a very short and Uncommon Message; that though the fig tree fails to blossom, the vine fails to bear fruit, though the labour of the Olive fails, the fields fail to yield meat, the flocks and the herbs fail, yet I will still rejoice in the Lord.
*He was invariably saying though the Prophecies for the Year seem delayed, though expectations seem cut off, the desirable not available, visions backed up with actions seem to fail, all help produced little or no fruits and nothing seemed to work, yet I will still sing and dance before the Lord.*
*Habakkuk seemed to know some Mysteries which we ought to lean into as well:*
*(1)* Only one thing is Needful in life and that is to be with God - *Luke 10:40-42*
Therefore, it is a thing of great Joy, if all things fail but the Presence of God is evident.
*(2)* All things visible are temporal, they can be and also cease to be - *2 Corinthians 4:18*
*(3)* Whatever is still connected to its Source, though is dead, will still come alive - *Job 14:8-9*
*God is the source of all Good Things; whatever or whoever is connected to Him, though dead will still come alive.*
*(4)* It is misplaced Priority to make Gifts the source of our Joy rather than the Giver.
*(5)* Whatever we don't get, God in His infinite wisdom knows we don't need or the appointed time has not come.
*From the aforementioned, no matter what we have gone through or are going through, we should sing, dance and rejoice in the Unchanging God, till end the Year.*
*Prayer:*
Father, Please give Me the Garment of Praise to end this Year in Jesus Christ Name.
