*CHALLENGE THE IDOL TO A CONTEST*

*By Pastor E O Gabriel  15 October 2026: Share*

SCRIPTURE: “Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto Mount Carmel, and the Prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the Prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table" - *1 Kings 18:19 KJV*

*Life is war, and war is a series of battles.*

*One of the ways to live Victoriously is to Challenge the idols on our way to a contest.*

Elijah lived Victoriously by challenging the Prophets of Baal to a contest - *1 Kings 18:19–39*

*Why Must We Challenge the Idols to a Contest?*

*(1)* It is through a contest that we confirm that we are seated together with Christ Jesus in Heavenly Places, far above Principalities and Powers.

*(2)* It is through a contest that we can demonstrate that the One in us is Greater than the world - *1 John 4:4*

*(3)* The bragging of the idols cannot be checked without a contest.

*(4)* Resistance to our Divine Speed will be eliminated through a contest.

Elijah did not enjoy Divine Speed until the Prophets of Baal were eliminated - *1 Kings 18:46*

*(5)* The reign of idolatry will not end without a contest.

*(6)* The ardent followers of idols cannot be liberated without a contest.

*(7)* The Word of God will not grow without a contest.

*(8)* The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ will spread through a contest.

*(9)* The Earth will be filled with the Glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea - *Habakkuk 2:14*

*How Do We Engage the Idols in a Contest?*

*(1)* By standing in His Holy Place - *Psalm 24:3–4; 1 Kings 17:1*

*(2)* By taking Authority over the idols through the Name of Jesus - *Philippians 2:9–11; Psalm 118:10–12*

*(3)* Through the Blood of Jesus - *Revelation 12:11*

*(4)* By declaring the Word of God - *John 1:1–3*

 *Prayer:*

Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ, I take Authority over every idol in my father’s house in Jesus Christ Name.
