*DANGERS OF LOSING YOUR FIRE*

SCRIPTURE: But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the Prison house - *Judges 16:21*


We are admonished to keep the fire burning because it is deadly to allow it to  go out.


Samson was a fire brand Believer, doing great exploits. He was on a Journey to Timnath with his Parents, when 

a young lion roared against him, and with his bare hand, he tore it into Pieces - *Judges 14:5-6*


Similarly, he was bound by his own Kinsmen and handed over to the Philistines, his enemies. While the Philistines were shouting for Joy, he got up with the help of the fire in him and killed a thousand of them - *Judges 15:14-16*


*No doubt Samson was a firebrand Believer, unfortunately through careless living, he lost his fire.*


*Consequently, the hands of the enemies, the Philistines came heavily against him and did the following:*


*(1)* Put out his eyes - *Judges 16:21*


Loss of sight is loss of Vision. Loss of Vision means a Path towards destruction - *Proverbs 29:18*


*(2)* He was bound with fetters of brass - *Judges 16:21*


Just as Criminals are handcuffed, His movement was restrained. 


Movements stand for Progress - His Progress hindered.


*(3)* He was put in Prison - *Judges 16:21*


His freedom curtailed.


Whatever He loved to do, he couldn't do, whatever he hated, that he did.


*(4)* His enemies threw a Party and were rejoicing - *Judges 16:23*


His enemies triumphed.


*(5)* He was asked to make Sport in the Presence of three thousands People - *Judges 16:25,27*


This was a great humiliation.


*(6)* He Prayed for death - *Judges 16 :30*


He was meant to live but Prayed for death.


*(7)* He died Prematurely - *Judges 16:30*


He died in the Camp of his enemies, his life and Ministry ended abruptly. 


*It is therefore costly and deadly to lose one's fire as seen in the Life of Samson.*


*Prayer:*

Father, Please help me to avoid Careless Living that will cause my fire to go out.
